Class 2 visited Bowes Museum today to participate in a workshop about Toys from the Past. We have been learning about what toys were like before the digital era! We loooked at the materials that toys were made from, the design and how they were hand-crafted. The children recognised some of the toys at the museum, from learning completed in school and at home. We even had the opportunity to play with some of the toys and none of them were electric!
During the afternoon session, we looked at a doll carved from wood, which was 100 years old. It was made out of an old table leg. We were able to create our own unique dolls using a wooden peg and different materials. It was great fun.
The children had a fantastic day!
